How many cameras I can I connect to my SecurHome HTVR?

Will my HTVR connect to my normal home security system?

Yes. The HTVR can connect to most existing home security systems. This will allow the HTVR to record on all cameras when an alarm event occurs and in many cases can push images to your security provider for dispatch, helping to prevent unnecessary fines from false alarms.

Although the HTVR can record continuously one of its greatest features is that it can be set to only record when motion is detected. You will still be able to monitor video in real time however by only recording when motion is detected it will take much longer for the hard drive to become full.

Can I connect other sensors to my HTVR?
Yes. The HTVR has connections which allow other types of security sensors to be connected which can then activate recording on individual cameras. You may also use the motion detection feature of the cameras to act as a sensor and activate lights or other components which can be connected to the relays on the back of the unit.

Does the HTVR support HDTV resolutions?
Yes and no. The HTPC DVR will view and record what is broadcast over the airwaves at the resolution it is broadcast at. However, since cable TV companies have not yet standardized on HDTV equipment, the HDTV signals routed through the cable boxes may not record on the DVR at all. Reportedly in the fall of 2005 a new standard will be implemented that will make all cable companies use the same standards. This will allow the DVR to record from all cable boxes.
