Securgen to introduce USB 2.0 based storage server
Spokane, Wash., April 14, 2005
—
Securgen today unveiled its plans to introduce
a second generation SecurStore system based on a USB2.0 data bus. The SecurStore
2000 is a 1 terabyte storage server that is designed to cost effectively extend the
storage of any server with USB 2.0 compatibility.
Unlike its predecessor, the SecurStore 1000, the SecurStore 2000 relies on USB2.0
instead of SCSI for data transfer. The primary benefit of USB based data transfer
is the ability to add additional storage without the need for a SCSI controller.
“The ease of use and quick setup of the SecurStore 2000 will save our integrators
time and money. This system is quite literally a plug and play solution for mass
media content storage expansion,” said Tim Bybee, Securgen’s Vice President of Marketing.
SecurStore 2000 1 terabyte storage servers are scheduled to begin shipping on July 1, 2005.
